War Welfare Fund.

The distribution of gifts of 10s. to Kilnhurst men and women serving with the Forces by Kilnhurst War Welfare Fund is now nearly complete.

In all 127 men and 6 girls from the village are now serving, and one of the girls in a recent letter to the secretary, of the War Welfare Fund, acknowledging a gift she had received, said she was being trained as a telephonist and was finding the work interesting and enjoying the life immensely.

The following subscriptions to the” Fund are gratefully acknowledged:

Amounts previously acknowledged £579 7s. 8d., Highthorn Services Fund £8, Miss South per house-to-house collections £4 17s, 7d., Mrs. Hicks per house-to-house collections 5s. 7d. The total to date is £592 10s. 10d
