Villagers Chase ‘Cat Man’

Women and children at Kilnhurst, a mining village near Mexborough, have reported to the police what they call mystery man,” who has been peering in at lighted bedroom windows at night. The police are making inquiries.

On one occasion 30 men chased him through the village, but throwing away a ladder he was carrying, he jumped a wall and escaped.

One resident said, ” He is just like a cat. He strides on to a wlndowsill just like you or I would stride on to the pavement.”
