Unusual Kilnhurst Fatality.

The illness of a child, the calling a doctor, who discovered that the child had in the throat a small toy funnel, about half an inch in length, which though extricated, caused throat swelling, suffocation and death, were the main features of inquest at Kilnhurst, yesterday, on Eric Hoyle, the 13 months-old son of John William Hoyle, miner, of 46, Victoria street, Kilnhurst.

The child became ill on Saturday, and worse on Sunday, when the parents sent for the doctor, who took away the then discovered obstruction in the throat by the aid of a spoon and forceps.

A verdict was brought in that death was due to suffocation caused a tin tube.
