Tragic Death of Railwayman

The death occurred on Saturday of Mr Alfred Heald (45), son of the late Mr and Mrs Joseph Heald, 123 Meadow view, Kilnhurst.

Mr Heald had only been married two months before his death.

He was an employee of the LMS Railway company having worked for them since his early youth. He started at the old Midland station at Normanton and had worked his way up to the position of Chief Shipping Clerk at Rotherham station.

Mr Heald’s father, who died only a short time ago, was manager of the old Kilnhurst pottery in partnership with Mr Hepworth.

Mr Heald Jr had been ill for about six weeks before his death, and died at a Bridlington nursing home on Saturday night. He leaves a widow and two sisters, for whom much sympathy is felt.

Mrs Heald has had the misfortune to lose a sister, father, two near friends, and finally her husband within the last six months.

The funeral took place on Wednesday at Kilnhurst
