“Top Heavy” at Kilnhurst
John Prince, of Kilnhurst, was found drunk and creating a disturbance at this village on the 19th ult., and in consequence he had 7s. 6d. and costs to pay, this being his ninth appearance.
Another Inebriate at Denaby
Wm. Shelton, of Brampton Bierlow, was charged with being drunk and disorderly at Denaby on the 15th ult.
P.c. Midgley deposed that whilst on duty on the Conisbro’ road he heard a disturbance and ascertained that it was occasioned by the defendant, who was quarrelling with a Mexboro’ fish woman. He was very disorderly and used obscene language. He had great difficulty in getting him to go quietly away.
He was fined 5s. and the costs.
Drunk and Disorderly at West Melton
Mark Hargreaves and Benjamin Newcombe, of West Melton, were charged with being drunk and disorderly at that village on the 19th ult.
P.c. Carter proved the case, showing that the defendants were fighting and using very bad language whilst in a state of intoxication.
They were fined 5s. and costs, or ten days’ imprisonment in default.
Another “Bounce” from Swinton
Thomas Gregg, of Swinton, was charged with being drunk and disorderly there on the 12th ult.
At half-past ten o’clock on the evening of the day in question the defendant was seen by one of the officers to be so drunk that he could not stand.
The defendant having only been recently fined had now to pay 10s. and the costs.
