Annie Hides, of Kilnhurst, was today at Rotherham, charged on remand with having attempted suicide by drowning in the canal on August 25th.

It wa stated that whilst the defendant had been in the workhouse the Court missionary (Mrs Haslam) had arranged for her admission to a home.

The woman was accordingly discharged.
