Theft by a Tramp.

At the Rotherham Police Court, on Monday last, John Blane, a tramp, was charged with stealing a piece of suet from the shop of William George Glasby, butcher, Kilnhurst, on the 17th instant.

The prisoner went to the prosecutor’s back door and asked for alms, which were refused. As he was leaving, he took the suet from the shop window board, and put it in his pocket.

He was afterwards given into the custody of Police-constable Hobson. The prisoner was committed to gaol for 14 day
