Teddy Ashton – Likely Transfer to Burnley
The recent splendid form displayed by Teddy Ashton, the Kilnhurst born Barnsley winger, has attracted the attention of several prominent league clubs. The “South Yorkshire Times” learned from a reliable informant that the Second Division club, are negotiating for his transfer and an early deal is anticipated.
Ashton has had a stay of several seasons with Burnley during which time he has proved himself a trusted servant. His recent scoring feats have been responsible for interest being focussed in his direction. In his last four games he has scored eight goals, including a “hat trick” against Rotherham United.
