On Trial with Hull

With Hull City on a month’s trial is Kilnhurst Colliery inside-left, Brian Flannery.

Aged 17, ex Mexborough Technical College boy, Flannery began the present football season with Baker and Bessemer; later joined Kilnhurst and went to Hull with Kilnhurst secretary J. Haythorne in late December.

He played against Rotherham in the Midland League three days later.

Says Secretary Haythorne, “Flannery has the makings of a good footballer.” His home is 84, Highthorn Road, Meadow View, Kilnhurst.
