Man and Dog Fight at Kilnhurst.

One of these brutal encounters is reported from Kilnhurst. The man is well known in the locality, and has gained notoriety, among other things, by his aptitude for eating cockroaches and breaking glasses and pots with his teeth.

It is recorded of him that he can convert the strongest glass into an ordinary saltcellar by the use of his teeth alone. His latest freak was to a wager a gallon of beer that he would fight a dog belonging one of his companions. The dog of the brindled order; and his antagonist submitted to having his hands tied behind him.

Only three rounds were fought. The man, who was on his knees, obtained the first advantage, for he caught and bit the dog with his teeth, though not seriously. It was now the animals turn, for he fastened on his opponent and severely lacerated his face. At the third round the man (?) threw up the sponge, and the combat was awarded to the dog.
