Kilnhurst Family will be Reunited in Greece

A Kilnhurst boy, six year old Rodger Longstaff, will see his father for the first time for over 12 months when, with his mother, Mrs Stella Wagstaff, of 5 Aitken Road, Kilnhurst, he sails next Monday from Liverpool in the “Empire Test” bound for Greece.

Mrs. Longstaff’s husband, Sergt Harold Longstaff, is serving with e R.A.F. in Athens attached to the British Legation. The British authorities have arranged for a number of British wives and families to visit their husbands and here serving in Greece. Accommodation will be provided and the families will stay for varying lengths of time. Mrs. Longstaff is staying for two years, when her Husband’s overseas service will be completed.

Aged 32, Sergt. Longstaff is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs R Longstaff, of Aitken Road, Kilnhurst. He has served 15 years and was mentioned in dispatches in the recent war.

He married Mrs Longstaff, a Cambridge girl, 10 years ago. She was formerly first sales woman with Messrs Blake’s, drapers of Mexborough
