Last week’s output from the 13 pits in No 3 Area of the North Eastern Divisional Coal Board dropped by 15,641 tons to a total of 142,208 tons.

Target-beating pits were Aldwarke, Wentworth and Wath.

Yesterday’s absenteeism for the area averaged 45 per cent.
