Daring Rescue

On Wednesday, about noon, a kitten was daringly rescued from a perilous position.  By some means the kitten had managed to get on to a ledge underneath the canal bridge, close to the water.  There it had been for several hours and there it would have had to remain but for the efforts of a Mr. Marsden and the pluck of a young boy, Reggie Windle.

Hearing of the cat’s predicament, Mr. Marsden went to the scene, secured a rope and received the assistance of Reggie Windle.

At considerable risk, Reggie allowed himself to be lowered over the bridge to release the cat.
