Amazing Epidemic of Fatal Accidents.
Four Colliery Disasters and Two Drowning Cases.
Fatality at Rotherham Statutes.

There has been an extraordinary run of fatal accidents in the South Yorkshire district during the past few days. At the latter end of last week there were four colliery disasters in the neighbourhood : two at Cadeby, one at Frickley, and one at Manvers. The inquests in all these cases are fully reported below. In addition, there has been an extraordinary double drowning fatality at Kilnhurst, and a young man was killed by falling from a swing-boat at Rotherham Statutes Fair. In one of the colliery cases, the heroic action of a deputy was the outstanding feature. The Kilnhurst drowning case, though simple accidents in themselves, were surrounded by some remarkable circumstances. Full reports on all these cases are given on this page.
