Mr. R. Allen (British Legion)

A furniture salesman, working in a Mexborough store. A native of Kilnhurst, he has lived there all his life. Has been a member of Kilnhurst British Legion branch since the end of the war, and is branch treasurer and delegate to all conferences. Also a member of the general benevolent and pensions committee of the branch.

Mr. G. B. Dowens (Labour): Member of Swinton and Kilnhurst Labour Party for about eight years Employed at Thrybergh Hall Colliery as an underground repairer Member of several local organisations and committees Has been a member of Kilnhurst Old Soldierc’ Association and the Old Folk’s Association. He has lived in Kilnhurst for 17 years, and has been an N.U.M. member since he started work at Thrybergh Hall.
