Mr. J. W. Hughes (Hooton Roberts) and Miss R. Pearson (Kilnhurst).

Miss Rhoda Pearson, second daughter of Mr. A. Pearson, of 11, Greenwood Road, Kilnhurst, was married at Kilnhurst Parish Church on Boxing Day to Mr. John William Hughes, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hughes, of Hooton Roberts.

Given away by her grandfather, the bride wore white floral taffeta with veil held in place by orange blossom, and carried pink chrysanthemums.

Bridesmaids were Misses Margaret Winstanley and Enid. Pearson in pink taffeta, Misses Connie Winstanley, Annie Pearson and Mary Adams in blue taffeta

All Wore caps and muffs to match. Mr Arthur Hughes was best man and Master K Pearson groomsman.
