A Yorkshire League and Northern Intermediate League linesman and a Mexborough F.A. referee, Mr. Arthur Hawcroft, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hawcroft, 8 Highthorn, Kilnhurst, was married at Wath Parish Church on Saturday to Miss Edith E. Green, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Green, 41 Burman road, Wath.

The Vicar, the Rev. E. V. Evans officiated and the bride given away by her father wore a beige coat with accessories to tone and a spray of red roses. She was attended by Miss Nancy Green. Mr. James Hope was best man and Mr. Bernard Green groomsman.

The bride’s mother wore navy with matching accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore brown with matching accessories.

The honeymoon is being spent in Torquay, the bride travelling in turquoise with brown accessories. From the staff and workmates of the “South Yorkshire Times” the bridegroom received a timepiece and the bride received a coffee table and wine set from Messrs. Russell’s (Mexborough) Ltd., by whom she is employed.
