Mr. R. Sharratt (Mexborough) and Miss E. Dawson (Kilnhurst)

Miss Emily Dawson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Dawson, of, 28, Charles Street, Kilnhurst, and Mr. Richard Sharratt, youngest son of Mrs. Downing and the late Mr. D. Sharratt, of 38, Harlington Road, Mexborough, were married on Christmas Day at Kilnhurst Parish Church, the Rev. E. J. Cheverton, officiating.

The bride, given away by her father, was attired in a gown of oyster coloured satin with a vei and wreath of orange blossom, and a gold necklace, the bridegroom’s, gift to her. She carried a sheaf of pink chrysanthemums.

The bridesmaids, who wore satin dresses with, over-dresses of lace, were Miss Betty Cutts, Miss Margery Cordron and Miss Patricia Margaret Cutts. The maids received evening handbags, from the bridegroom. The best man was Sapper Sharratt, brother of the bridegroom and Mr. Ralph Dawson, the bride’s brother, was groomsman.
