Wedding: Comer & Beckett
At the Congregational Church, Mexborough, on Monday, Miss Elsie May Comer, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs J. W. Comer, 63 Victoria Road, Mexborough was married to Mr. Harry Beckett third son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Beckett of 38, Carlyle Street, Kilnhurst.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Simpson.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly dressed in a bridal gown of ivory satin with lace coatee, veil and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of Madonna lilies. She was attended by four bridesmaids, Misses Sylvia and Edna Comer, who wore dresses of peach georgette, trimmed with lace and hats to tone and Misses Edna Vickers and Eliza Beckett, who were attired in blue silk with hats to match. Each carried a basket of tulips. Master Barrington Horbury officiated as page boy. The duties of best man were carried out Mr. E. Beckett and the groomsman was Mr. A. Beckett.
A reception was afterwards held at the Congregational School, where many guests were entertained. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful and handsome presents.
