The Football Breed
At Kilnhurst they turn out footballers by the family.
They have and they Gladwin’s, Burkinshaw, Shaws, Bisby’s, Staniforths, Ardrons – all cradled in football.
This is Jack Gladwin, a half-back, who has played with Hooton Roberts, Silverwood, Mexborough and now Kilnhurst, and in the course of his four years service has played a lot of Army football in France, Egypt, Austria and the old country.
He is the brother of Harry Gladwin, now of Sunderland, who played several seasons with Mexborough.
He is 21, with a useful height and weight, and promises to reach the best Kilnhurst standard.
