Driver Trevor Whitlam (24), elder son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Whitlam. 23, Meadow View Road, yesterday arrived home on demobilisation leave after five years with the R.A.S.C. and two years in prison camps in Germany and Austria.

After serving in North Africa with the “Eighth” from El Alamein to Tunis, he was captured by the Germans in the Dodecanese in November, 1943. He was taken to Greece, then Germany and later Austria, being freed In May, 1945.

Since then, he has been stationed in this country
