Private Fred Price,Kilnhurst, has been awarded the Military Medal.

According to the official account:

“This man formed one of a party of two officers and 40 other ranks, which raided the enemy trenches and dugouts. During the raid, he attacked single-handed, and enemy centre group with the Bennett, killing three and making the fourth prisoner.

He display conspicuous gallantry. When the raiding party withdrew he carried in wounded comrades to safety.

His conduct was magnificent.”
