Now serving abroad is Telegraphist Jack Millthorpe (21) only son of Mr and Mrs Millthorpe, of 59 Arnold Crescent Mexborough.

Jack joined the Navy in April 1941, prior 20 was employed by the LNE Railway Company as the booking clerk at Kilnhurst station.

An old boy of Mexborough secondary school, is married and is nominated for 14 Catherine St, Mexborough.

He looks forward each week to receiving a copy of the “South Yorkshire Times”
