News From Germany.
Mrs. Stockley, newsagent, of Victoria Street, Kilnhurst, on Monday received a letter from Pte. Charles Edward Haythorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Haythorne, of Beighton Road, Kilnhurst, who is a prisoner of war, in Germany.
Pte. Haythorne requested Mrs. Stockley to diplay the letter in her shop window.
The letter read: “I hope my friends in and around Kilnhurst are keeping well, as it leaves me at present. I hope the lads are filling off at “Bob’s Hole ” (Kilnhurst Colliery).
Mrs Stockley has replied to the letter.
Pte. Haythorne, who joined up about two years ago, was taken prisoner in 1940. He was formerly employed at Kilnhurst Colliery
