Kilnhurst Guardsman

Guardsman Robert Beighton of Kilnhurst, is an old boy of the Council School and captained the school football team when they won the Bond Shield (twice) and the Schools League. He also played for Mexborough District team.

He was employed In Kilnhurst Co-operative Society Boot and Shoe Repairing Department, until his enlistment in the Coldstream Guards at the age of 19.
