Letters Gone Astray?

Private Edgar William Atkinson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Atkinson, who lives at 14, Springfield Road, Kilnhurst, joined the Army some months before the war, and consequently was with the second batch of British soldiers who went out to France.

He was formerly a miner at Kilnhurst Colliery, and was previously a “Terrier” before joining up as a regular.

In letters to his sister. Mrs. King, of 14, Springfield Road. Kilnhurst, he states he has not received a letter yet, though she has sent quite a number.
