Shock of Fatal Accident.

Motorist Who Fainted at Wheel after Hitting Cyclist.

How motorist fainted after colliding with a cyclist, and the car he was driving was brought standstill by a brother who was with him, was described at inquest at Doncaster yesterday on George Frederick Wilkinson (25), a miner, of 16. Meadow View, Kilnhurst, who was killed at, Tickhill on Bank Holiday while riding a racing cycle.

James Edward Draycott, a. miner, of Newton, rear Alfreton, said his brother was driving the car at about 25 miles an hour. Just as they were passing some cyclists Wilkinson fell in front of the car, which passed over him. Witnesses’s brother, who was driving, fainted, and witness, realising what had happened, applied the brakes and stopped the car. It was impossible to avoid the accident.

George Draycott, a licensed bookmaker, the driver the car, said that Wilkinson seemed to fall straight in front of the car. It happened suddenly that there was no chance to avoid an accident.

When I knew I had over him I fainted,” he added.

A verdict of Accidental death was returned.
