Rosemary Making First Title Bid
Kilnhurst beauty, Rosemary Markham, is one of the favourites for this Saturday’s Coal Queen title. But surprisingly this will be 22-years-old Rosemary’s first attempt to win the crown although she has been eligible for years, through her father John who is a ripper at Kilnhurst
It was not until she came to work as Manager’s Secretary at Kilnhurst that she decided to stake her claim, and even then it was not her idea.
Her mother, Mrs. Rose Markham, first made the suggestion and she received every encouragement from her colleagues at work. They insisted that she entered and have no doubt she will win the title.
It is already going to be a memorable year for Rosemary, of 11 Aitken Road. Kilnhurst — she is getting’ married later this month and her ambition now is to do well in the competition.
Formerly a shorthand-typist at British Oxygen in Rotherham, her hobbies are driving and tennis.
