Another Fatal Accident Claim Paid
Mr. George Owen, of 27, Highthorn, Kilnhurst, who has worked at the Kilnhurst Steel Works for 27 years, while following his employment as a hammer man, was hit at the back of his neck by a spark from a red-hot disc wheel which they were forging. The born eventually caused his death.
Mr. Owen was well-known and very popular in Kilnhurst and was for many years interested in the town cricket club as a player, and captained the club for two seasons. Both he and Mrs. Owen have been readers of our paper since they were married 2l years ego, and were registered under our Insurance Scheme.
Mrs. Owen sent in a claim for benefits under the Scheme, and our representative paid over on Monday £10 in settlement of the claim. Mrs. Owen in acknowledging the receipt of the cheque, which to thank the proprietors of this paper for the prompt attention and quick settlement of her claim.
