A well-known Kilnhurst resident. Mr. Ronald Vickers (24), second son of Mr. and Mrs O. Vickers, of 14, Thorne Rd., Kilnhurst, was buried at Kilnhurst Cemetery on Thursday March 24th

He died on Sunday, March 17th in Sheffield Royal Infirmary after a long illness. A former student at Mexborough Grammar School, he had been employed at Queen’s Foundry, Swinton, since the age of 14 and was a blacksmith.
