More Men Dismissed.
The large number of unemployed mineworkers in Kilnhurst was increased on Wednesday by the dismissal of about 50 men who were engaged in the No. 3 district of the Warren Vale Colliery. This district is being closed down by Messrs. Stewart and Lloyd, because it will be uneconomic to work it further.
The total number of unemployed men in the township, in spite of the restarting of 70 per cent. of the men who were given notice, at the collieries, is now about 500, and the outlook for Kilnhurst is serious.
The immediate prospect of resuming work at, the local collieries are by no means bright, as the collieries are not likely to be able to absorb more men at present.
