Another Cup Victory.

Kilnhurst United  3  Rotherham YMCA 2

Kilnhurst United have been doing nothing but cup-tie fighting for the last six weeks.

They were at it again on Saturday in the the Rotherham Charity Cup, being at home to Rotherham Y.M.C.A., winning by the odd goal in, five, and getting into the semi-final of this competition. The score suggests a tight game, but Kilnhurst had, it well in hand, and opened the scoring with a header after ten minutes, and later Harvey missed with a, penalty, but before the interval Taylor increased the lead.

Early in the second half James saved splendidly from Shaw, but Taylor scored a third goal.

Kilnhurst, when leading 3,–0, began to slacken. John Dickinson, the Rotherham cricketer, played a splendid game at inside-left for the Y.M.C.A., but it was Ellis who opened the visitore scoring after Dickinson had bit the crossbar. Winstanley later made a great save from Dickinson, but Rotherham got through once more, and Kilnhurst attacked to the end.
