Kilnhurst Girls’ Effort
Three Kilnhurst youngsters have spent much of their spare time over the past two weeks preparing their own money raising event for charity. June, Joan and Jill Rowley of 13 Newsam Road, Kilnhurst, are to hold a jumble sale outside their home tomorrow, Saturday, and they have spent the past weeks making a local house-to-house collection for jumble.
They are hoping to raise money for the baths appeal launched by the Wath Oak Road Training School. Their brother, seven years old Derrick Cookson, himself disabled, is a pupil at the school and his sisters June (13) a pupil of Swinton Comprehensive School, Joan (11) and Jill (10) from Queen Street Junior School are anxious to help the project.
The daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Derrick Cookson, the girls will serve at the stalls tomorrow afternoon. Already they have raised over £3.
