Kilnhurst Girl to Appear On TV
13-Years-Old Kilnhurst girl, Pamela Moorhouse who has attended Maud Maxfield School for the Deaf, Sheffield since her childhood, is to appear on Television next Friday.
Next week will be a memorable for Pam, younger daughter of and Mrs. George Matthew Moorhouse, of 4, Sivilla Road, because as well as making this appearance on the B. B.C. programme for deaf children, Pam is travelling to London on Monday for the National Institution for Deaf annual party.
Pam is most excited about the appearance, which she is to share with two other school-friends. At present Pam does not know what is to do on television, though Andy Sanford, who appears on the programme, has asked them to take costumes for the pantomime Cinderella.”
It was last year when Sandford opened the School’s Party that he saw Pam and her two friends in a scene from the pantomime and has subsequently asked them to appear on his programme. Pam takes the part of Dandini and her two friends are the Ugly Sisters.
The party is also in London, at Seymour Hall, Seymour Place,
Pam will be accompanied my friend and two teachers from school.
For her television appearance Pam will be accompanied to Lime Grove Studios by her mother Mrs Frances Moorhouse. Mr Moorhouse is a boilerman at Kilnhurst Colliery.
Pam has been deaf since she was 18 months old, when she had pneumonia, but is progressing very well at school and can hear with a hearing aid.
