Kilnhurst Co-Operative Society.
The 280th quarterly statement of the Kilnhurst Co-operative Society, Ltd., shows total sales for the quarter amounting to £28,368 9s 6d, a decrease of £4,073 on the previous quarter and of £2,233 17s. 10d. on the corresponding quarter of last year.
Fifty members joined during the quarter. 72 Withdrew or lapsed, and the present membership is 3,112.
The sales for the quarter were equal to 13s 11d per week per member.
The disposable balance is £5,601 19. 2d, and after being dividend on purchases at 3s. in the pound, share interest amounting to £948 6s 10d, education fund £10, £100 to reserve, and £100 to plate glass insurance, there remains £237 14s 8d to carry forward. The share capital now amounts to £78,189, an average of £25 2s 6d per member.
The quarterly meeting ‘of the Society was held on Saturday, Coun. A. Russell presiding.
A vote of condolence with the family of the late Coun. Senior, a member of the committee, was passed. Mr. E. S. Blacker was elected to the vacancy on the committee, to sit for six months.
The following were nominated fee election to the committee at the next meeting: Messrs. T. Beighton, G. Beckett, L Rix, A.E. Sanders, W.O. Turnton, C. Senior, E. Phillips and J. H. Woolsey.
