Kilnhurst and Mexborough Men’s “Clocking” Offence

Joseph Turton (30), saw operator, of 65, Springfield Road, Kilnhurst, and William T. Howitt, (37), labourer of 25, Byron Road, Mexborough, were at Rotherham, on Monday, each fined the sum of 1s 3d. from Messrs. Baker and Bessemer Ltd., of Kilnhurst, by false pretences.

Mr. A. H. Jackson, prosecuting, said the men had “clocked in” at work, but had gone out later to a hotel for a drink.  They had returned to the works by a back entrance.
