Good Old Hemp

Secondary school students cutting off specimens of their hemp rope believed to have been the winding rope at the Albany pit, Kilnhurst, which had been closed down the 70 years. The rope was found on “Charlesworth’s” Farm, Kilnhurst, which Mr. James Sharpley, of Swinton recently took over.
