Drunks

Thos. Barrett, Herbert Stainforth, George Watson, all of Kilnhurst, were charged with being drunk and disorderly at Kilnhurst. None of the defendants appeared.

PC Lunn proved the case.

Fined 5s. each and costs or 10 days.

George Ward, Herbert Hatton, and Peter Galvin were also charged with being drunk on the highway at Denaby

George Ward, who was the only one to appear, said he hoped the Bench would consider his case. He had been on the “box” for three months, and also had been in the hospital for a considerable time. He was passing near Slaters’s public-house, when the other two defendants pulled him in, and the temptation was too great for him.

P.c. Midgely proved the case

Ward was fined 5s. including costs, and the other two 5s. and costs.

Albert Edwards was fined 9s. and costs for being drunk and disorderly at Kilnhurst on the 23rd ult.

Charles Johnson was fined 5s and costs for being drunk and disorderly at Denaby on the 29th July.

Samuel Kelton was also fined 5s and costs for being drunk and disorderly at Kilnhurst.
