Sheffield Independent August 3, 1839
An inquest was held on Thursday evening, at the Ship Inn, Kilnhurst by T Badger, Esq on the body of a woman, name unknown, was taken out of the river at Kilnhurst Works on Wednesday.
The body was a dreadful state of decomposition, the hands being entirely gone, but was identified by the address as that of the woman who threw herself off the railway bridge into the river, on 1 November. She had lived with one of the railwaymen, who, leaving the neighbourhood, refused to take her with him.
The jury returned a verdict according to the evidence.
