“Double” Bid
Having won their way to the semi-finals of the women’s amateur billiards and Snooker Championships, Mrs Marie Keaton of 23, Talbot Rd, Swinton, is well placed for bringing off a notable “double.”
On Wednesday night in the sixth heat of the second round for the second round for the snooker crown, Mrs. Keeton defeated Mrs. Moreland-Smith, of Bournemouth by two frames to one. In the billiards semi- finals yesterday, Mrs. Keeton met M Keene (Tonbridge), the interval score being Mrs. Keeton 273, Keene 194.
Mrs. Keeton, who learned her billiards as a girl when her father Mr. Arthur Rodger, licensee of the Commercial Hotel, Kilnhurst, won the women’s northern amateur billiards and snooker titles in June this year at Sheffield.
