Co-operative Society.

The quarterly meeting of the Kilnhurst Co-operative Society was held on Saturday. Mr A Russell presiding.

The balance sheet, which was presented by Mr. D. A. Royston (secretary), showed total sales for the quarter of £31,007 18s. 5d., an increase over the corresponding quarter of last year of £332 9s. 5d. and a decrease on the last quarter of £1.348 17s l1d.

The profit on the quarter was £5.109 17s. 4 ½ d. making a total disposable balance of £5,302 3s 11 ½ d which the Committee recommend to be divided as follows:

Dividend at 2s. 10d. in the £ (14%) A. £4,557 5s 6d.; share interest. £851 1s 7d. ; Education fund. £10 10s; balance carried forward. £93 6s 0 ½d

The number of members at the beginning of the quarter was 3,075. and at the end of the quarter this had increased to 3,110.
