Brothers Far Apart

Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. David Waterfield, of 6, Albert Street, Swinton, are serving in the Forces.

Leslie (26) is a Quartermaster-Sergeant stationed in Scotland with the Royal Artillery.  He has been in the Army for over four years, joining up in January 1940.  Before enlisting he worked in a Swinton grocery branch of the B.B.C.S. (Barnsley British Co-operative Society).

His brother, John (22), is an air mechanic in the Fleet Air Arm and, since joining up in November 1941, he has seen service in Africa and is at present in Ceylon. Before he joined up John worked for Messrs. Baker and Bessemer, Kilnhurst.
