Accident.

HaroId Brookes, aged 8 years, of 23, Charles Street, Kilnhurst, was admitted to the Mexborough Hospital on Monday night suffering from a fracture of the left leg and other minor injuries.

The boy was playing with two other lads, Walter and Donald Scott, near the Ship Inn, Kilnhurst, when Harold decided to climb a wall nearby. He reached the top of the wall and was endeavouring to stand up, when he fell on to a heap of broken stones. His left leg was broken and his face severely cut.

After medical attention, he was taken to the Mexborough Hospital where yesterday he was reported to be progressing satisfactorily.

The boy, several months age, nearly lost his life when knocked down by a ‘bus near his home.
