Kilnhurst Railway Fatality.

The funeral Joseph Bailey, the stoker who was killed on Thursday at Kilnhurst by the Sheffield Hull express took place yesterday afternoon at the Barnsley Cemetery.

Fully 300 railway servants of all grades attended to pay their last respects to an honoured comrade. Deceased was borne to his last resting place by railway servants who wore their uniforms.

Unfortunately, slight hitch occurred when the cortege reached the cemetery. There was no minister present, and the mourners were kept waiting for fully, twenty minutes before he arrived.

It is a sad coincidence that deceased’s father was killed on the railway about nine years ago.
