HANDEL’S ” SAMSON ” AT KILNHURST

On Monday night the members of the Harmonic Society gave a performance of Handel’s oratorio, ” Samson,” in the Co-operative Hal. There was a good attendance.

The following artistes rendered the ‘ solos allotted to them in a most creditable manner: —

Soprano, Miss Pattie Cuttle. West Melton ; contralto, Miss Lily Hill, Doncaster ; tenor, Mr. Jos. Armitage, Sheffield ; bass, Mr. Alfred Popple, Mexbro’.

The choruses were also given in excellent style. Mr. W. H. Stubbs conducted.
