50-Goal Specialist

Centre-forward of Baker’s F.C., only unbeaten side in the Mexborough Association League so far this season, Sam Cookson scored six of their ten goals against Thurnscoe Sports on Saturday.

Sam has scored 16 goals to date; is now almost one-third of the way towards repeating his feats of the past two seasons – in each of which he scored 50.

Graduate of Bakers’ Intermediate side, Sam (who lives in Hallgate, Mexborough) is also a sprinter of repute. Both he and his wife play with Baker’s in the Mexborough Lawn Tennis Association.
