Elephant Headed Pig
At Kilnhurst, near Rotherham, a sow has given birth to a pig with a perfectly formed elephant’s head.
The creature was born with 13 other perfectly natural pigs.
It died shortly after birth, and is preserved in spirit by the owner, Mr Joseph Bluck, landlord of the Nag’s Head.
The pig is of ordinary size, with a trunk 2 inches long, they have been the exact counterpart of an elephants, although the eyes are not to be seen.
This freak of nature is at present on view in a large glass bottle, and has been the object of much curiosity.
