Wedding of Arthur Read (brother of Ethel maternal grandmother) 1931

 

The wedding took place in the Kilnhurst Parish Church on Boxing Day of Mr. Arthur Read, second son of Mrs. Read of 7, the Wharfe. Kilnhurst, and Miss Marjorie Ethel Bloxliam, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bloxham, of West Norwood, London. The Rev. F. Shepherd officiated. The bridegroom, who left Kilnhurst five years ago, is working as a building contractor in London. where he met the bride. Prettily attired in white velvet with white satin shoes, and a veil of net held in place by a wreath of orange blossom, and wearing a string of pearls, the bride was given away by her cousin, Mr. Archie Taylor. She was attended by Miss Edith Read and Miss Mary Lambert of Sheffield, the former being dressed in salmon pink silk, ankle-length, with black lace coat, and the latter in blue silk with lace collar and cuffs. Both wore silver leaf headdresses and shoes to tone with their toilettes. The best man was Mr. Jarvis Read and Mr. Charles Read was the groomsman. A reception was held at the home of the bridegroom after the ceremony.
