A gown of white satin beaute, trimmed with gardenias and a coronet of lilies of the valley, were worn by Miss Mary Oliver, eldest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. J. Oliver, of 38, Addison Road. Mexborough, for her wedding at Swinton Parish Church on Monday to Mr. Albert Smedley, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Smedley, of 10. Aitken Road, Kilnhurst.
The bride was given away by her father and carried pink carnations and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids were Misses Ruth and Amy Oliver, Misses Doreen Sherwood, Mona Simpson D . and Rose and Joan Houghton. The elder maids wore pink taffeta gowns, with coronets to tone, and the younger blue taffeta gowns. All had coronets to tone and carried posies of pink tulips. The bridegroom gave the bridesmaids silver identity discs and bracelets.
Mr. Spencer Jones was best man and Mr. Gordon Mitchell groomsman.
