Kilnhurst were the first to attack, and Morris failed from close in. Page saved two certain goals from Frith and Roddis.

Griffiths went near for Thurcroft when Dungworth failed to hold a shot from Cowley.

Webb twice cleared off the line for Thurcroft. Morris and Frith were given proving a minister Thurcroft defence, and after Bisby had failed on two occasions he finally put Kilnhurst in front.
